deprecātŏr, ōris, m. celui qui détourne un malheur par ses prières, intercesseur, médiateur, protecteur.    - huic irasceris, deinde illi : ubique enim causae supersunt, nisi deprecator animus accessit, Sen. Ir. 3, 28, 1: tu t'irrites contre celui-ci, puis contre celui-là : en effet en toute occasion les motifs surabondent, sauf si l'esprit vient détourner (cette colère).
